In your first kickboxing or MMA class, you can expect a welcoming atmosphere where the instructor will guide you through basic techniques and movements. The class will include a warm-up, skill drills, and a cool-down, ensuring you get a full-body workout while learning the fundamentals.

No prior experience is necessary to join our kickboxing or MMA classes. Our programs are designed for all skill levels, and our instructors will provide modifications and support to ensure you feel comfortable and capable throughout your training.

For kickboxing, you’ll need gloves, hand wraps, and comfortable workout clothes. For MMA training, additional gear such as shin guards and mouthguards may be required. If you’re new, we have equipment available for you to use or rent, and our staff can help you choose the right gear as you progress.

Yes, our classes are suitable for all fitness levels and ages. We offer beginner to advanced classes and provide modifications to accommodate various fitness levels, ensuring everyone can participate and benefit from the training.

If you’re a beginner and just starting out then 2-4 times per week will be enough to see results and allow you to adjust.

You’ll be sore some days, so allow yourself recovery days between training sessions at first – over the course of the following months work up towards 5 days per week if you want to maximize! Sign up today!

Professor Benn Pyne is a highly skilled martial arts coach with over 20 years of experience in various disciplines, including MMA, Muay Thai/Kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He’s competed both nationally and internationally in BJJ, Kickboxing, and MMA. He received his initial training at Kalahi Martial Arts on the NAS Whidbey Island Naval base, under the guidance of Professor & Sifu Lou Faralan Circa 2001. After taking over leadership of the Kalahi Martial Arts Club, he honed his abilities by coaching new students and learning from club members from diverse martial arts backgrounds from all around the globe that were stationed on NAS Whidbey Island.

Professor Benn’s passion for learning and for martial arts drove him to seek additional training, which led him to commute 2 hrs south to Seattle several times a week to train with Professor Rodrigo Lopes at Gracie Barra Seattle, and other trainers in the Seattle area. He would go on to continue this routine for several years eventually earning his Black belt from Professor Rodrigo Lopes and Professor Carlos Sievert in 2016.

In 2010, he founded Chimera Mixed Martial Arts, which quickly became a thriving MMA and BJJ competition team. Within its first two years, the Chimera Mixed Martial Arts team, remained undefeated in 38 MMA and Kickboxing fights, with team members winning five championship titles and multiple team trophies at local grappling tournaments. After leaving Chimera MMA in 2015, Professor Benn moved to Bellevue, where he coached at Gracie Barra Bellevue and Kirkland before founding Kaiju Kickboxing & MMA in 2019.

As a seasoned coach and martial artist, Professor Benn is dedicated to creating a positive training environment for athletes and casuals alike. To this end, he has assembled a strong team of individuals and coaching staff in Kirkland, where he currently resides. With his extensive expertise and unwavering dedication to the martial arts, Professor Benn remains a source of inspiration and guidance for his students, helping them strive towards their full potential.
